Our Services

Here at JB Osteopaths, we offer a range of treatment techniques within our appointments. Whilst Osteopathy is traditionally a manual therapy, developing technology has proven to provide patients with further success in their recovery, overall wellness and general experience of the treatment.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless treatment which involves the use of high-frequency sound waves to target soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Key benefits include:

  • Promotion of tissue healing

  • Increasing blood flow

  • Reduction of pain and inflammation

  • Improvement of flexibility and range of motion

  • Breaks down scar tissue

Interferential Therapy/ TENS therapy

Interferential Therapy (IFT) is a non-invasive electrotherapy technique which works by delivering low-frequency electrical impulses through the skin using electrode pads or vacuum cups where two medium-frequency currents intersect to create therapeutic effects deep within the tissue. Key benefits include:

  • Pain relief

  • Reduction on inflammation and swelling

  • Accelerating the healing process

  • Muscular relaxation

  • Improved range of movement in the joints

Dry Needling/ Acupuncture

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves inserting thin needles into specific trigger points in muscles, tendons, or fascia. Key benefits include:

  • Pain relief

  • Reduction in inflammation

  • Muscular relaxation and reduction in tension

  • Improve range of motion in the joints

  • Increased blood flow and healing time

  • Accelerated recovery from injury

  • Support for neuromuscular relaxation

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping (or K-Tape) is a therapeutic technique that involves applying a thin, stretchy adhesive tape to the skin in specific patterns and tensions. The tape allows joints to reach full range of motion whilst simultaneously providing support. When the tape is applied, the skin is lifted slightly to improve circulation, reduce pressure on pain receptors, and support the joints and muscles. Common reasons for application include:

  • Sports injuries such as ligament sprains or muscle strains

  • Postural correction

  • Muscular imbalances

  • Joint instabilities

  • Swelling and bruising
